Dream
There's a new movie theater that's opened up. They play old movies, a lot of silents. My mother and I go to check it out and see what it's all about. We go down a long hallway. On each side of tha hallway, there are banquet rooms set up. Are we in the right place? Then we see a box office. Yes, we're in the right place. The old man in the ticket booth is bent over, as if picking something up from the floor from his sitting position. He's asleep. As he realizes there are customers, he wakes, and sits up slowly, at an old man's pace. It's my grandfather. My mother buys a ten-show pass. They do not seem to recognize each other. I ask if two people can use the pass. My mother says yes, so I decide to buy one for myself. My grandfather doesn't seem to recognize me, and I secretly wish for the transaction to be over so that he doesn't.
