Dream

Jennifer and I share a large house with Jennifer A. and two other women I don’t know. It’s the same house from a previous dream I had where Jennifer A. moved in with us . One day, she and the two women announce that they’re al moving out on the same day. It will be expensive for Jennifer and I to afford the rent on our own; we know we need to find roommates. Jennifer and I consider moving our stuff into the portion of the house where Jennifer A. lives; we hadn’t before because it was swankier than where we are now and we wanted her to have it. She helps us clean her space as she's moving out.

Jennifer and I would like to purchase our dream house, but we discover that it’s no longer a rental unit, but someone's family home. I decide to approach the owners and ask if they'd be willing to sell the house is located on the southwest corner of Kenwood and Downer, and I walk over from our house on Cambridge. A man answers the door. I don’t recall what I'm there for, but he invites me in. Living in the house are two couples and an older woman who I know to be the matriarch of the clan. It's the group I see at Beans all the time with the older white haired ladies, who were also at EE Sane the night of the 28th. I explain to them that I used to live in the house, and say, "I'll get to the point. Are you interested in selling?" They're flattered I want to buy the house, but no, they're not interested in selling at this time. We talk for a bit, sharing our respective stories about the house. I ask if they know about the secret panel in attic closet, they do not. I agree to show it o them sometime. I give them my business card in ase they change their minds about selling. As I leave, I ask "Do you go to Beans a lot?" "Yeas," laughs the matriarch, "I thought you looked familiar." "We're there every weekend," I say.

I'm in a large auditorium. The seating is very steep, like the gallery at the Pabst Theater. Andre Lee Ellis is doing a Cirque du Soleil style show. The plot of the show is the quest for a diskette. As the last portion of the show, there is a large net running the length of the auditorium, from the stage to the top of the back row of seats. Andre begins pulling a rope on the side of the net, creating a ladder of taut net. The act is close to the lip of he stage, and I must lean forward to see what's going on. The angle of the seats is very steep, and doing this makes me feel vertigo. I'm balancing the thin line between seeing the act and feeling vertigo. Andre climbs the net, toward the diskette, but in the process, the disk falls into my hands because the net is so close to the heads of the audience. The act is over. Andre thanks the audience, invites them to stay seated for the next part of the show, and exits through a door stage right. I'm with an older gentleman, I tell him I’m getting vertigo and need to take a break during the intermission, as well as return the disk to Andre. I gingerly exit the seats as the audience mills about, and make my way to the door through which Andre exited. I'm carrying the disk, as well as a small paper plate with Jeno's pizza rolls and chicken nuggets. Someone wants to see my meal ticket to let me in, but I've left that, and my tickets, back at the seat. I explain that I'm just looking for Andre to return the disk, and I’ll only be five minutes, and proceed to walk through the security checkpoint. They don’t stop me, but I hear them talking about a question to verify if I belong there or not. I return to the desk, and ask if there's a question. One of the women asks what the 17 principles are. "Core," I say, and they let me through. I wander through the halls backstage, looking for the familiar blue of Andre's suit, but cannot see him. I go backstage, and don’t see him either. I do notice that it's remarkably clean and quiet for a working theater.

House
This house is a large white bungalow with a porch running the width of the house in front. It's very sunny and bright on the inside, with a lot of large trees all around it. It reminds me of Andrew Larsen's house, except in the back part (north) of it, there's an addition. On the ground floor of the addition is a family room area, with stairs on the west side of the room. The stairs lead to a small apartment kitchen and a small dining area just south of it. A hallway to the rest of the house (which upstairs reminds me of the Murray house from the bathroom perspective) runs just east of the kitchen/dining area, and just east of that is a bedroom. On the south wall of the bedroom is a closet. On the south wall of the closet is a hidden door to an attic closet. In the attic closet, there's a secret panel leading to the attic I frequently dream about.
