Afternoon Nap
We're listening to radio reports on NPR about how the Chinese are using this huge building at the edge of their territory to spy on the US, just across the border to the east.
We don't care, we're along the lakeside, sprawled on the grass. J. slathers Val's back with cubes of Noxema. Val protests, but Jennifer insists it'll feel good.
I jump in the river and swim; it's very refreshing. Val is amazed I have the guts to do so. I continue to swim; after she's done with her rubdown she'll want to do it as well.
As I'm on my way out of the water, a bunch of filmmakers arrive. R.P. is there with his asian girlfriend. J. F. is there as well.
R. P. has just completed the graduate film program at UWM; he's been my project for the semester. As I introduce him among the other filmmakers, some are bummed that they're not going to see him this fall when they enter the program. Others jump for joy and ask each other questions about what classes they got as they discover they're going to be in the program together.
J.F. is in the program as well.
